After three years, alumni will be able to reunite again at school to enjoy an afternoon filled with memories, music and good food in our traditional luncheon. SIMALCO is a proud sponsor of this reunion.
You can’t miss the Alumni Luncheon on April 15th, 2023 at 1pm.
After three years of not returning to school, we will now visit our campus again to enjoy a fun lunch with our lifelong friends who bring us many memories. For more than 20 years, the FDR Alumni Luncheon has been an annual tradition, where we share a lunch full of music, dance, and lots of fun at the school that educated us, shaped us, and saw us grow. Additionally, we will meet with great friends from all different classes, teachers, and alumni living abroad who will come to Lima to reunite at school with their friends and family.
As we move forward in life, our priorities change, and our friendships may naturally evolve. Staying connected with the classmates we went to school with can be one of the most valuable activities we can do in our social and emotional life. Some of us have lived together throughout our school years, 14 years. Childhood friends are often the ones who have seen us grow, mature, and celebrate our achievements. They have witnessed our ups and downs and have accompanied us in happy times as well as supported us in difficult moments. Maintaining these friendships over the years is a gift that gives us a sense of joy, a sense of connection and belonging, improving our quality of life and emotional well-being. Overall, school life has offered us many opportunities and valuable experiences that have helped us develop skills, establish friendships, and achieve our goals.
Now we can return to school to visit those familiar spaces where we studied. We will also have the opportunity to see the great changes made in recent years on campus, such as the new Primary Building, the Commons Building, the Performance Art Center-PAC, and now the new Condor Plaza, which will be inaugurated during this year’s alumni lunch.
Additionally, we will pay tribute to our Superintendent Kerry Jacobson, a great manager of the modernization of the school, promoter of major infrastructure and first-rate educational programs, promoter of the Roosevelt Sponsorship Program, promoter of the Alumni Association (FDRAA), as well as the modernization of educational management through technology.
It will be a whole experience to see how our school is changing and also to learn how it is educating the new generations of students with advanced technologies and first-class training. Our school has always led education in Peru, and we are proud to be alumni of the best International school in Peru and one of the best in Latin America.
We invite all classes to participate and coordinate with their Class Reps. This year we have the goal of having the highest participation of alumni at the FDR Alumni Luncheon. Get ready for a day full of joy, delicious traditional food, excellent music, and as always, with our lifelong friends with whom we will share many new experiences and joys. We will undoubtedly see some of our childhood teachers, such as Marilia Ráez, “profe” Acuña, or the teacher Sixto Ramos, Miss Bertha Monroy, Miss O´shea, among others.
The school’s annual lunch is one of the many activities that can be part of this unique and unforgettable experience. All these special moments and experiences lived together will continue to strengthen our connection and friendship.
