Time magazine just published its Best 50 Destinations for 2022 ranking and several countries in Latin America made the list. Here are some details of these magical places.

Easter Island, Chile: Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this Chilean territory is famous for its archeological sites, which include nearly 900 monumental statues or “moais”, created by its inhabitants between the 13th and 16th centuries. Also known as Rapa Nui, the place still preserves the Easter Islander culture and practices the customs of their ancestors. A must-see destination for those seeking to connect with nature.

El Chaltén, Argentina: Known worldwide as the trekking capital of Argentina, it is located inside Los Glaciares National Park, in the Southern Andes. A unique corner of Argentine Patagonia, this destination is perfect for outdoor lovers and for all those who seek to enjoy unique landscapes, with wildlife that remains untouched.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador: The volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean is a sought-after destination for wildlife watching, as it is home to a great diversity of animal and plant species, many of them endangered. Conservation is one of the main elements of these islands where Darwin elaborated his theory of evolution. Today, its 13 islands and 215 islets are World Heritage Sites.

In addition to these natural wonders, the cities of Bogota, Colombia, and Sao Paulo, Brazil, made the list as recommendations for being dynamic, vibrant destinations with plenty to do.
